A Journey to the Palladian Villas of the Veneto
June 5 - 9, 2024
4 Nights

Trip Description
Join PRIOR x Cabana on our second trip to Veneto, the northeastern region of Italy, to experience our world and the space, people, and places that embody the richness 0f this region.
Guests will stay at the classic Hotel Villa Cipriani, on the outskirts of one of the loveliest towns in Italy, Asolo, referred to as "the pearl of the province of Treviso". The original villa was built during the Palladian era and has had several illustrious owners including English poet Robert Browning and the Guinness family, whose own Lord Iveagh commissioned Giuseppe Cipriani, founder of Harry’s Bar in Venice, to transform the residence into a hotel in the 1960s.
This regal area is home to some of the country’s most prominent artists and architects throughout history. Visit the nearby Renaissance villas and buildings created by Andrea Palladio, who is considered to be the most influential Western architect. Visit Gipsoteca di Canova, a museum which showcases the prototypes and studies of the works of sculptor Antonio Canova, one of the greatest Neoclassical artists of all time. Veneto is also where you’ll also find the buildings of Brutalist architect Carlo Scarpa, who was influenced by both Italian architecture and Japanese design. His unorthodox design can be seen at the Gipsoteca di Canova where he designed a wing as well the Brion Tomb, which serves as the burial ground for the Brion family near Treviso.
Throughout the trip, PRIOR will bring deep local food knowledge into the events and experiences that will feature the best of the region’s dishes, from baccalà mantecato to the local zabaione cream, influenced by the proximity of Venice’s lagoon as well as the wines like Prosecco di Asolo and innovative Merlots produced in the area’s verdant hills.
