Sure, it’s only February, but now is the time to beat the crowds and book your summer home away from home.
Property owners and vacation-rental experts forecast another wildly busy summer season, as pent-up demand from would-be holidaymakers and limited availabilities loom.
This week, PRIOR’s global team of travel experts have curated nine peak-season rentals around the world, from a historic tower house on the southeastern Peloponnese coast of Greece to a remote cabin in the Norwegian fjords — and all manners of white-sand estates, art-filled villas, restored mansions and country farmhouses in between.
Preview the properties below and inquire with PRIOR to get in the door. We have the keys.
Patrick Leigh Fermor House
📍 Mani, Greece

The historic home of Patrick Leigh Fermor, the famed British wayfarer and travel writer, and his wife, the photographer Joan Eyres Monsell, on the southeastern Peloponnese coast of mainland Greece.
Specs: The estate’s low stone buildings — the main house, traditional house and guest house — accommodate up to 10 guests and are rented as a whole villa.
Style: It’s no wonder photographer Miguel Flores-Vianna has called this historic residence “a house that is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful in the world.” Crisscrossed winds blow through spacious rooms facing the seaside village of Kardamyli and the forested tip of the Mani Peninsula. Marble tables on the terrace overlook a sharing pool and wildflower garden. (Come spring, the Peloponnesus blooms some of the most extensive flora in Europe.) A pathway at the front of the house offers private access to a beach for swims in the Messenian Bay — the very blue waters where Patrick and Joan swam every day.
Sights: Wake up early and head for breakfast at a tiny taverna in the nearby fishing village of Agios Nikolaos to watch traditional caïque fishing boats with kerosene lanterns carry in catches of the day. Or take a day trip to the Maniot town of Areopolis, with its cobbled streets lined with tower houses and hills thick with flowering prickly pear, or explore the stalactite-hung grottoes found inside the caves of Pirgos Dirou.
Finca Es Bec d’Aguila
📍 Menorca, Balearic Islands

A 19th-century weekend home is now a family-friendly farmhouse that blends contemporary art and historic Balearic-style architecture, complete with a personal chef at your disposal.
Specs: 11 bedrooms, including one designed for children, can hold up to 22 guests.
