Step beyond Milan’s elegant façades into a world rarely seen by outsiders. Experience unparalleled access to the city’s most private and storied spaces—from homes featured in Cabana Magazine to hidden ateliers, artist studios, and the legendary workshops of Teatro alla Scala—plus after-hours access to Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper,” intimate meals inside Milan’s most atmospheric interiors, and introductions to the tastemakers, artisans, and cultural custodians who define the city’s enduring allure.

At the heart of the journey is Lorenzo “Renzo” Mongiardino, the late “master of illusions” whose richly layered interiors are encountered everywhere, from the private welcome at Casa Cabana to an exclusive dinner at Da Giacomo. Casa Brivio, a refined residence woven into Milan’s cultural fabric, will serve as an intimate home base.

Trip highlights

Up close with "The Last Supper"

Painted by Leonardo da Vinci between 1495 and 1498 in the refectory of the Basilica di Santa Maria delle Grazie, this is Milan’s most significant artistic work. Free from the usual crowds and long waitlists, enjoy exclusive, private access to the monumental fresco, allowing time to experience it intimately and without haste.

Casa Cabana with Martina Mondadori

Editor-in-Chief Martina Mondadori’s childhood home, designed by Renzo Mongiardino, is the spiritual heart of Cabana Magazine—and its earliest source of inspiration. Enjoy a private dinner in the apartment to experience the layered interiors that continue to shape the magazine’s distinctive vision.

Makers and collectors of Milan

Milan’s design culture lives in the details, so it’s essential to spend time in the city’s ateliers and with its makers. From hand-painted ceramics to custom furniture and housewares, these objects reflect a lineage of craft shaped by precision, restraint, and a generations-old commitment to beauty.

Behind closed doors

An invitation to one of Milan’s most coveted family homes gives you the opportunity to meet authors, collectors, and patrons amid their museum-worthy libraries of textiles, objects, and art.

The making of La Scala

Enter the workshops of Teatro alla Scala, where sets, costumes, and sculptural elements are created for upcoming productions. This behind-the-scenes experience offers insight into the work of the artisans who transform ideas into the tangible and timeless beauty of opera and ballet.
