Ellerman House: Checking In & Checking Out

Occupying a privileged post on the steep slopes of Lion’s Head, Ellerman House is set within a 1912 Edwardian mansion with one of Cape Town’s finest views of Bantry Bay. Ellerman House sits on nearly five acres on the Atlantic-facing Bantry Bay, one of Cape Tow’'s most peaceful residential neighborhoods. The property backs directly onto Table Mountain National Park, putting hiking trails within easy reach. Camps Bay, Clifton, the V&A Waterfront, and central Cape Town are all a short drive away. Transfers to and from Cape Town International Airport (a 20-minute trip) are included in the rate.

When

Cape Town comes into its prime from November through March, when warm, dry weather coincides with the southeasterly “Cape Doctor” wind and clear blue skies. December and January are the busiest months, particularly on the Atlantic beaches, though Ellerman House is insulated from much of the bustle. Winter, between June and August, brings most of the year’s rainfall but is also the prime season for spotting southern right whales just off the coast.
